PRESS RELEASE: 2014 Conference Assembly

NFCA Announces Dates & Location

The National Federation of Croatian Americans is pleased to announce that it will hold its 21st

National Assembly at the St. Lawrence Croatian Club (CFU Lodge #13) in Steelton, Pennsylvania. The lodge located a few miles upriver from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was founded in 1895, under the leadership of Josip Vrbos with the St. Lawrence Society (Drustvo Sveti Lovro).

“We are excited about coming to Steelton and the St. Lawrence Croatian Club. They have a very strong Croatian community here including a fantastic Tamburitzan and Tambuiria orchestra.” Said Paul Tonsetic-Kunder. The lodge today has a vibrant and active membership under the direction of President Scott Kuren and Club Managers Petar & Mate Krpan.

A full two days of programing is being planned with distinguished guest speakers (see attached public session). H.E. Josko Paro, Ambassador of Croatia will speak along with H.E. Jadranka Negodic, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina. They will take questions after their speeches.

This year we are proud to announce our fundraising effort to help the Croatian Team that will participate in the 2015 Special Olympic Games in Los Angeles, CA. A wine tasting fundraiser will be held on Friday night May 30th, 2014 at Steelton Croatian Club. The event will feature eight different Croatian wines along with Croatian food and the Tamburica music of Zadnja Stanica.

The NFCA is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting the interest of the

Croatian people; embodying heritage of culture and language, integrity in human rights and

equality in self-determination, advancing economic development, and freedom from persecution.
