49th International Children's Festival in Sibenik Croatia June 20 - July 4 2009
49th International Children's Festival in the city of Šibenik, Croatia, will take place in the period of June 20 - July 4 2009. It will host as many as 1100 participants from twenty countries which will offer a rich cultural program. The theatre tradition in Šibenik started 140 years ago, in 1870, when the theatre building was inaugurated. The city is famous for its Renaissance Cathedral of Sv. Jakov from 15-16th centuries, proteced by UNESCO.

Dr. Ante Simonić, ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, and Dr. Zlatko Mateša, head of the Croatian Olympic Committee, had the honor to be captains of two teams dressed in well known Croatian sports dresses. One team was composed of members of China Radio International Program in Croatian language, and another of former Chinese students of Croatian language in Bejing, plus Dr. Simonić and Dr. Mateša as captains. Andrea Kulier 17-years-old Croatian in the USA to study cosmology at Princeton
Andrea Kulier who is only 17-years-old will graduate from California State Los Angeles University and attend Princeton in the fall to study cosmology. Kulier and her family immigrated to the U.S. from Croatia. While most in her age group are graduating high school, Andrea Kulier received dual bachelor's degrees and is on course for a PhD.
